Extremely beautiful pictures of Sakura. Fantastic.

Where were these pictures shot? Do cherry blossom trees grow in India?

You may be surprised to know to know that Sakura is indigenous to the Himalayas, North Bengal & Sikkim(now Bangladesh) and in east Asia such as China, Japan and Korea.

Japan has a wide variety of sakura; more than 305 cultivators can be found there. Many were artificially hybridized or grafted by Japanese horticulturalists centuries ago

These were shot in Delhi

they are at the Japanese Ambassador's residence at the Japanese Embassy in New Delhi was invited to a "Hanami" or Cherry Blossom viewing party in April

they had spent months in quarantine before bieng replanted at the embassy brought over from Hokone Mountains in japan a place legendary for the beauty of its cherry blossoms and long celebrated in Haiku's which extol the timeless ageless Ephemeral Beauty of The Falling Cherry Blossoms
